Texas Cornbread with Honey Aleppo Pepper

Cornbread is super easy to make and loved by virtually everyone. But this is no ordinary cornbread - my recipe offers a sweet heat that complements the corn, is super moist, and cut into Texas size pieces. Slathered with melted butter - this is a dish no one can refuse. 


3 eggs
1 cup milk
3 - 8.5 ounce packages corn muffin mix
1- 15 ounce can creamy style corn
Optional: 1 stick butter, cut into 16 pieces, room temperature

1. Pre-heat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9x12x2 inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl whisk the eggs, milk, creamy corn, Honey Aleppo Pepper or Texas Cornbread Seasoning and corn muffin mix. Whisk until just combined. Batter may be lumpy - that is okay.
3. Pour cornbread mixture into the prepared pan.
4. Bake for approximately 22-25 minutes until top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
5. If serving with butter, let cool 15 minutes then cut into portions and top each piece with a pat of butter.
