Brussels Sprouts with Maple Bourbon Glaze
Bourbon, maple syrup and bacon are three of my favorite ingredients. Add in Brussels sprouts and you have one of the best vegetable side dishes, ever.
6 strips bacon, cut into ½ inch pieces
2 pounds Brussels sprouts, halved
1/4 cup stock, vegetable, chicken or turkey
3 tablespoons Maple Bourbon Brussels Sprouts Glaze
In a large sauté pan cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from pan, to a paper towel lined plate, reserving the drippings in the pan
Add the sprouts and Maple Bourbon Brussels Sprouts Glaze to pan with reserved drippings. Sauté for 8 minutes or until golden brown.
Meanwhile cut or tear bacon into bite size pieces.
Stir in stock and reduce heat to simmer. Cook 5 minutes uncovered or until stock is absorbed. Stir in the bacon. Season to taste.
Vegetarian option: substitute 2 TBSP each butter and olive oil for bacon.
